Wake Forest’s 2019 Football recruiting class has been already considered one of the best in the program’s recent history. Now, it got even better with the latest addition of 3* ILB Chase Jones.
Jones verbally committed Thursday night becoming the 17th commit of the 2019 class.

We have mentioned here before how important it was to explore the New Jersey area and develop a solid pipeline. Seems like it is paying dividends for the Deacs with Jones, coming out of Jersey City, being latest successful addition from NJ. 3* Will Smart was the first Wake Forest pickup from the New Jersey area in this class.
Jones picked the Deacs over offers from Duke, Vanderbilt, Rutgers, Syracuse and 9 other schools. He’s ranked as the 30th best recruit in NJ and the 53rd best ILB in the country, according to 247Sports.
Jones’ addition bumped the 2019 Football recruiting class up to No. 33 in the nation, as pointed below by Les Johns. Make sure to follow Johns as he does a great coverage of everything related to Wake Forest sports.

Jones has good coverage skills and sure hands to break on the ball. He has also been used at St. Peters Prep. as a deep threat target, which allows him to showcase his athleticism and further evidences his ball-catching skills.
Stay tuned for more Wake Forest news and as always Go Deacs!
