Wake Forest Day of Giving: Greatest Assists of Chris Paul Career

In honor of Wake Forest’s Day of Giving, I take a look at CP3’s most “giving” plays.

In honor of Wake Forest University’s “Day of Giving” I take a look at Deacon great Chris Paul’s top assists and assist statistics from both his time at Wake and in the NBA.

Let’s just say there’s a reason he has earned the nickname “Point God”.

Top Assist Statistics

4-Time NBA Leader in Assists (2007-08, 2008-09, 2013-14, 2014-15)

Chris has led the NBA in assists per game four different times, averaging 11.6 in 2007-08, 11.0 in 2008-09, 10.7 in 2013-14, and 10.2 in 2014-15.

NBA Record for Most Assists Per Game in the All-Star Game

Paul is averaging 13.2 assists per game in NBA All-Star games during his nine selections during his career.

NBA Franchise Assist Records

Chris is the New Orleans Hornets/Pelicans franchise leader in assists with 4228. He is also the franchise record holder for most assists in a single season with 925, and most assists per game in a single season with 11.6 per game.

Paul also holds the Los Angeles Clippers record for most assists with 4023, and most assists per game during a single season with 10.7.

9.9 Career Assists Per Game and 9th All Time in Assists in the NBA

One of Only TWO Players in NBA History with a 20 Point, 20 Assist, ZERO Turnover Game

Chris accomplished this feat on December 11, 2016.

First Player in NBA History to have 40 points, 10 assists, and 0 turnovers in a playoff game

10th in Wake Forest History in Career Assists

Paul is 10th on the Wake Forest all-time list for career assists, despite playing only two seasons in old gold and black.

3rd and 8th All-Time in Wake Forest History for Single Season Assists

2nd in Wake Forest History in Career Assists Per Game Average

CP3 ranks second behind only Muggsy Bogues at 6.3 assists per game in his time as a Deacon.

ACC Freshman Leader in Assists 2003-04

Paul led the ACC with 183 assists in 2003-04-also good for second all-time in Wake Forest history for assists as a freshman (behind Ishmael Smith who had 186 in 2006-07).
