If you didn't see earlier, WF's basketball matchups next season:
— Conor O'Neill (@ConorONeillWSJ) April 10, 2018
Home/Road: Duke, FSU, Miami, N.C. State
Home: Boston College, Louisville, North Carolina, Pitt, Syracuse
Road: Clemson, Georgia Tech, Notre Dame, Virginia, Virginia Tech
Okay, so. The good (on paper): BC and Pitt at home. I’m also pretty cool with GT on the road to be honest. Playing State twice is..okay? We’re almost always competitive with them, especially at home. Duke twice, woof. Notre Dame and UVA only on the road? Unfortunate.
I honestly don’t really know what to make of this, especially with the futures of Bryant Crawford and Doral Moore being uncertain. If either of them leaves for good, it’s gonna hurt. If both do, start saying prayers now, because good gracious, that would absolutely gut our roster. No sir, I don’t like it.
I would say that other teams will be dealing with turnover too, and while technically true, the likes of Duke, UNC, Louisville, Syracuse, and Miami are probably more prone to a reload rather than unexpectedly losing our two senior leaders relatively unexpectedly. Doral leaving would kinda make sense I suppose, but if Bryant leaves, that opens up a whole can of worms I’ll cross if we come to it, It’s worth saying, though, if that happens, our projected win totals even from now will absolutely tank. Yikes. Theoretically, this past year’s roster (mostly) with another year of experience and an iinfusion of quality freshmen could be pretty good. The problem is, we just don’t know.
What do you guys think? Talk about it in the comments. As always, Go Deacs.
