Deacs look to win their first ACC road game of the year

NCAA Basketball: Boston College at Pittsburgh Charles LeClaire-USA TODAY Sports

Wake Forest takes on the Pittsburgh Panthers tonight at 9 pm on the ACC Network. Both teams will be going for firsts in this game; Wake Forest is looking for their first ACC win away from the Joel, while Pitt is looking to pick up their first ACC win in any arena this season.

At 0-15 in the conference, I probably don’t need to prove to you that Pitt is not a great basketball team this year, but here goes anyways. The Panthers are scoring just 63.3 points per game this season, which is 343rd out of 351 teams. In the conference, that number drops to just 57.1 points per game, which obviously ranks dead last. They shoot just 42% from the floor (319th) and 33% from the 3-point line (264th), while pulling in just 31.6 rebounds per game — putting them at dead last in the conference and 333rd in the nation in rebounding.

All that being said, this will definitely be their best chance to get an ACC win this year, as Wake Forest is just 5-66 since 2009 on the road in the ACC. That is not good. With this game and Georgia Tech game coming up at the end of the season, the Deacs have 2 solid chances to pickup road wins.

The Deacs are favored by 9.5 in Vegas, and KenPom has the Deacs winning 73-67. Ill throw up a prediction and say the Deacs win 83-65.
