In what should come as no surprise to anybody who follows Wake Forest football, Dave Clawson is an intelligent guy and excellent at his job in coaching football. That apparently translates to the film room as well, as evidenced by Clawson’s appearance on ESPN News yesterday in the “Coaches Film Room” in breaking down the Cotton Bowl.
This is a great opportunity for Clawson to get the Wake Forest brand out there to folks who may not hear a lot about us during the season. It also gives fans a rare chance to hear him talk in-depth about football and schemes, and boy did he impress.
He appeared with UNC head coach (lol) Mack Brown, Memphis coach Mike Norvell, and former Georgia Tech coach Paul Johnson.

Here are some tweets echoing this notion from some college football writers and experts:
Love the ESPN film room... Dave Clawson is a lot of fun to listen to.

It helps that he knows both teams, but Dave Clawson has been really good in the Coaches Room.

Dave Clawson is a really, really strong analyst and really the only reason why I'm watching the Megacast. Mack Brown can't lead a discussion. Mike Norvell doesn't feel comfortable and Paul Johnson has zero interest in actually doing anything

Paul Johnson: "I think (linemen downfield) is the most unfair rule in college football."

Dave Clawson: "I thought (you said) the cut block was the most unfair rule in college football"
This is precisely why I enjoy watching the coaches film Room version of the college football playoff games. Here the coaches explain the snag and go concept that Notre Dame broke open, but pressure caused the incompletion.. pic.twitter.com/j1YApVp2ib

As always, I am proud to have Dave Clawson as a representative of Wake Forest and he crushed it in his stint breaking down the game. I will gladly watch him talk football on-air once he retires in 25 years as head coach at Wake Forest.
