Hudson comes in at 6-3, 227 pounds, and is ranked as a three-star recruit by the 247Sports Composite Rankings. He is listed as the 1,487th best player in the nation and the 112th ranked outside linebacker. In N.C. he is slated as the 62nd best player in the state.
This was a good ole fashioned recruiting showdown between Wake Forest and N.C. State, and head coach Dave Clawson got a win off the field in addition to his big win on the field when Hudson committed to the Deacs over the Wolfpack.

State offered him on June 9th, while Wake offered on June 15th. Hudson made his decision on June 24th, choosing Winston-Salem as his home for the next few years.
In addition to State, Army and East Carolina also offered Hudson a scholarship.
He played a lot of defensive end at Cape Fear High School, but Wake Forest and the coaching staff views him as more of an outside linebacker with his size and speed.
Welcome to Wake Forest Jaylen!
