Wide Receiver Donavon Greene Signs with Wake Forest

The 6-2, 185 pound wide receiver out of Mount Airy, NC is officially a Demon Deacon

Wide receiver Donavon Greene officially signed with Wake Forest this morning and will join fellow freshman wideout Nolan Groulx, All American Greg Dortch, Sage Surratt, and others on the Wake Forest receiving corps for the 2019 football season.

Greene is a 6-2, 185 pound receiver from Mount Airy High School in Mount Airy, North Carolina. He chose the Demon Deacons over offers from Notre Dame, Tennessee, South Carolina, N.C. State, Georgia Tech, Duke, North Carolina, Appalachian State, and East Carolina. Ranked as a four-star by 247sports, he is the 36th ranked WR in the nation, the 238th ranked recruit overall nationally, and the 10th ranked recruit in North Carolina.

Wake Forest will have a logjam at receiver next year, but based on Greene’s athletic ability I fully expect him to be involved from day one.

Greene committed to the Deacs on June 24, and stayed committed in spite of receiving offers from Notre Dame, Tennessee, South Carolina, and others.

Greene has the opportunity to be a special player in old gold and black, and will look to continue the long legacy of great Wake Forest receivers before him such as Ricky Proehl, Kenneth Moore, Chris Givens, Michael Campanaro, Greg Dortch, and others.

Welcome to Wake Forest Donavon! We are very excited to see what you will bring to Wake Forest!
