All-Purpose Back Kendrell Flowers signed with Wake Forest this morning and will join Cade Carney, Christian Beal-Smith, Courtney McKinney, and DeAndre’ Delaney in the backfield for the 2019 football season.
Flowers is a 5-11, 190 pound back out of Irmo, South Carolina. He chose the Demon Deacons over offers from North Carolina, Tennessee, Penn State, Purdue, Charlotte, and Coastal Carolina. Ranked as three-star by 247 Sports, he is the 12th ranked APB in the nation, the 15th ranked recruit overall out of South Carolina, and the 919th ranked recruit in the nation.

He was recruited by Kevin Higgins and John Hunter, which is promising for seeing him run the ball and get it in space in some receiver sets in the years to come in Winston-Salem.
Flowers committed to Wake Forest in April of 2018, and was then offered by Tennessee, Penn State, and North Carolina in the following month. Despite these offers, he stayed committed to the Deacs and this shows the recruiting eye that the staff has for talent that is going to blow up.
This guy seems like the real deal, and that shows throughout his highlight video. Not only is his offer sheet extremely impressive, but he is a versatile player who has that rare speed and strength necessary to get into the open field, but also punish anybody he encounters once he is out there.
I am not sure what exactly the staff has in mind for him for next year, but he seems like an explosive athlete who can fill a number of roles should we need him right off the bat.
Welcome to Wake Forest Kendrell, we are very happy to have you in the Old Gold and Black for the next 3-4 years.
