Cade Carney gets rewarded for his great game against Duke.

Wake Forest won in dominating fashion against the Duke Blue Devils to go bowling for their third consecutive year. Winning 59-7, the Deacs leaned on a efficient passing game from QB Jamie Newman (18/23 passing for 177 yards and four touchdowns along with 50 yards rushing) and dominating running back performance by Cade Carney.

Carney has now been tabbed as the ACC’s Co-Running Back of the Week.

With Matt Colburn out with injury, Carney used this opportunity to shine. For the game, Carney had 31 carries for 223 yards and two touchdowns. His 7.2 average was outstanding, even showing some burst with his long 48 yard run. Quietly, Carney is closing in on 1,000 yards with 954 yards for the regular season while Matt Colburn has 698 yards on his own.

As the Deacs are about to go bowling again, credit has to go to the Beef Boys who rallied despite the injury to Justin Herron in the first game of the year.

Congratulations to Cade Carney and the Beef Boys for their prestigious award.
