This game has plenty of implications for the Wake Forest Demon Deacons. Entering with a 5-6 record, a victory gives Wake a third straight bowl season and at least a chance for a winning record for the season. A loss ends the season with a sour 5-7 record, perhaps halting the tangible success of the program.

The Duke Blue Devils won’t make it easy, quietly putting together a bowl eligible squad while entering the game with a 7-4 record.

Wake Forest has faced plenty of adversity this season, losing their best offensive lineman in the first game and also their surprising starting freshman quarterback with three games to play. The defensive secondary that has put walk-on in the two deep simply due to performance and injuries as teams have been able to score at will against the Wake defense.

But still, despite all the obstacles face, the Deacs have a chance to keep pressing forward and extending their season today.

Go Deacs!
