A pair of Wake Forest Demon Deacons were recognized for their efforts in the victory against NC State. To no surprise, QB Jamie Newman earned recognition along with senior safety Cameron Glenn.
Newman was named as a Manning Award Star of the Week while Glenn was selected as the ACC’s Defensive Back of the Week.

Newman was edged out by Clemson’s Trevor Lawrence for ACC Freshman of the Week, who had the big national gameday spotlight in his game against Boston College. Newman finished the contest with 297 passing yards on 22/33 passing with three touchdowns. In addition, Newman also had 44 rushing yards.
Cameron Glenn had a monster game on the defensive side to earn his recognition, posting a 11-tackle, 4-tackle for loss, 1-sack, 2-passes defended performance.

The Deacs still have their bowl game aspirations alive as they face Pittsburgh this week. Hopefully Newman, Glenn, and the Demon Deacons can build off their strong performance and extra time of prep to get their sixth victory of the season.
