When you win a game 56-35 there are almost certainly going to be some weekly accolades that follow it, but in a week where nearly every single ACC team that won put up 50 points there was actually some stiff competition.
Nevertheless, three Wake Forest players were able to get ACC honors this week, including two on the defensive side of things, as RB Matt Colburn, S Cameron Glenn, and DL Boogie Basham, Jr. all won player of the week at their respective positions.
Congratulations to our trio of Deacs who were recognized with ACC weekly honors!

Senior running back Matt Colburn picked up Co-ACC RB of the week for his 20 carry, 243 yard, 3 touchdown performance against the school that pulled his scholarship just two days before National Signing Day.
A lot of the credit can go to the Beef Boys up front, who put on the best blocking performance of the year for the Deacs, but at the end of the day, the running back still has to tote the rock and hit the holes, and that’s something Colburn did beautifully on Saturday.
Defensive back Cameron Glenn totaled 13 tackles on the day and was part of a secondary that limited Jawon Pass to a 30/54 day. There were certainly big plays allowed, but overall I thought the pass coverage was very good. I actually thought Amari Henderson had a great shot at this honor too after 4 pass deflections.
Last but not least was Carlos “Boogie” Basham, Jr., who had a #ScoopAndScore on a brilliant defensive play to blow up a reverse. He missed the initial tackle, but threw the timing of the play off, never stopped his pursuit of the ball-handler and was rewarded with a ball on the ground right in front of him with paydirt ahead.
Overall it was a fantastic week for the Deacs and it keeps bowl game hopes alive heading into a massive Homecoming affair against No. 22 Syracuse this weekend.
