Wake Forest got back on the winning track in dominating fashion, defeating the Rice Owls 56-24 on Saturday. With Greg Dortch securing four touchdowns through the air (11 receptions for 163 yards), the Deacs performed well for Family Weekend, helping erase the bitter taste of back to back defeats (highlights here).

Dortch was named the ACC’s Receiver of the Week as well as being placed on the Paul Hornung Award Honor Roll.

PFF also recognized Dortch’s monster game as he was recognized as a PFF National Team of the Week player.

Freshman QB Sam Hartman was also recognized for his play by the ACC, earning ACC Rookie of the Week. In addition, the quarterback was a CFPA Honorable Mention for National Player of the Week. Hartman had an extremely efficient game, completing 88% (15/17) of his passes for 241 yards and four touchdowns. Hartman also contributed four yards rushing.
