Trailing 1-0 in a the best-of-three series, Wake Forest had its back against the wall heading into game two vs. the No. 3 Florida Gators. Due to a tremendous amount of rain in the Gainesville area, game two only got through almost 5 innings before being delayed to today.
Wake leads 5-4 over the Gators with two on and two outs in the bottom of the fifth. The Diamond Deacs are serving as the home team for Game 2, and if necessary will be the road team again in Game 3.
Should Wake Forest hold on to win the game it will force a Game 3, which will begin approximately an hour after Game 2 ends. As of right now I am unsure of where the game will be on television, but since it’s the only live sporting event going on it should find itself on the ESPN family of networks somewhere.
The Gators had just tied it in the top of the fifth after getting two runs with the bases loaded and no outs. Chris Farish replaced Connor Johnstone to come in a limit the damage Florida was able to do.
Johnny Aiello propelled the Deacs back in front after a line drive home run to right field to gave the team a much needed surge going into the delay.
