The Wake Forest coaching staff has been on the recruiting trail again this week, and that means we have another pile of offers to break down. It appears that the staff was focusing on the Florida/Georgia line area last week, as a majority of the offers went to players in that region. Here’s a tl;dr table of the basic information on this week’s offers if you prefer that.

Jamious Griffin is a 5-10, 195lb running back at Rome High School in Rome, Georgia. He is rated as a 3-star prospect by 247sports and is listed as the 21st best running back in the 2019 recuriting class. He currently holds competing offers from South Carolina, UTSA, NC State, Arkansas St., MTSU, and Georgia Southern. Griffin would be a solid player to replace Colburn/Bell in 2019.

Jalen Alexander is a 6-0, 165lb defensive back playing at Grayson High School in Loganville, Georgia. He is a member of the 2019 recruiting class and has not yet been rated. Despite that, he already holds offers from Auburn, Cincinatti, FAU, Iowa State, Kentucky, Louisville, Missouri, Oklahoma, Oregon St., Syracuse, and Wisconsin.

Gabriel Gonzalez is a 6-4, 275lb offensive tackle playing nearby at Eastern Alamance High School in Mebane, North Carolina. He is a member of the 2018 recruiting class. Gonzalez does not have a star rating, but he holds offers from App St., Charlotte, Duke, NC State, ECU, Coastal Carolina, Minnesota, and Purdue. Adding some strength to the offensive line would be huge for the Deacs, so hopefully they can beat out the rest of the NC teams and land the nearby prospect.

Jordan Battle is a 6-1, 170lb safety at St. Thomas Aquinas High School in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He is a member of the 2019 recruiting class and has not yet been rated. He currently holds offers from Indiana, Virginia Tech, Mississippi State, Boston College, Cincinnati, Pitt, FAU, ECU, and Akron.

Marcus Rosemy is a 6-2, 175lb wide receiver that also plays at St. Thomas Aquinas High School. He is a member of the 2020 recruiting class, so it is definitely too early for any kind of star rating on him. He already has offers from Ohio State, Cincinnati, Illinois, Pitt, BC, and USF.

Vincent Murphy is a 6-4, 260lb offensive guard who also plays at St. Thomas Aquinas (last one, I promise). He is a member of the 2019 recruiting class and is yet to be rated. He holds current offers from Michigan State, ECU, Rutgers, FAU, Missouri, Kentucky, Mississippi State, South Carolina, Illinois, and UCLA. As I said earlier, strengthening the offensive line would really help the Deacs in the future, so hopefully they can land Murphy.

Dontay Demus is a 6-4, 205lb wide receiver at Friendship Academy in Washington, DC. He is rated as a 3 star prospect and the 99th best receiver in the 2018 recruiting class by 247sports. He holds offers from Michigan State, Wisconsin, Charlotte, Navy, Rutgers, Boston College, Maryland, Indiana, VT, and Temple. 247’s crystal ball predicts that Demus will commit to Maryland, so Clawson may have to work extra had to get him into a Wake Forest jersey.

Chase Van Wagoner is a 6-1, 175lb wide receiver from Lovejoy High School in Lucas Texas. He is rated a 3-star prospect by 247sports. Van Wagoner has over 20 offers including schools such as Arizona State, Boise State, Duke, Houston, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa State, Kansas, Syracuse, Utah State, Vanderbilt, Washington State, and Wisconsin. With so many teams interested, it would be impressive for Clawson to get a commit from Van Wagoner.

Te’cory Couch is a 6-0, 160lb athlete playing at Chaminade-Madonna Prep in Hollywood, Florida. He is a member of the 2019 recruiting class and is not yet rated. He has competing offers from FAU, Illinois, Louisville, Michigan State, NC State, Syracuse, Oklahoma, Bowling Green, and UCF. He plays both wide receiver and defensive back at CMP, so though he is being recruited as an athlete, I’m assuming he will end up at one of those positions in college,

Keontra Smith is a 5-11, 205lb safety who also plays at Chaminade-Madonna Prep. He is rated as a 4-star prospect and the 5th best safety in the 2019 class by 247sports. He currently holds offers from Ole Miss, Temple, Oklahoma, Oregon, Michigan State, Syracuse, Auburn, Kentucky, and Wisconsin. 247’s crystal ball predicts that he will go to Miami, despite the fact that the Canes have not offered him a scholarship yet.

Royce Francis is a 6-3, 240lb defensive end at Allatoona High School in Acworth, Georgia. He is a member of the 2018 recruiting class but is currently not rated. He holds offers from Michigan State, Air Force, Richmond, FIU, FAU, Troy, Ohio, and Ball State. 247’s crystal ball predicts that he will go to Michigan State.

The final offer for the last week is Derrick Eason, a 6-4, 240lb defensive end at Norview High School in Norfolk, Virginia. He is rated as a 3-star player and the 52nd best DE in the 2018 class by 247sports. He holds current offers from ECU, Maryland, VT, Charlotte, FAU, Syracuse, Navy, NC State, Temple, and Marshall. The crystal ball predicts that he will choose to go to ECU.
