The 6-5, 228 weak-side defensive end out of Gonzaga High School in Washington D.C. is the 114th ranked player in the nation according to 247Sports. He is the 8th ranked WDE in the Class of ‘19, and the 2nd best player in the District of Columbia.
His offer sheet includes: Penn State, N.C. State, Pittsburgh, Virginia Tech, Rutgers, Wisconsin, and Maryland.
While it is likely going to be an uphill battle to knock off favorite Penn State, Wake is clearly not backing off of a battle with big name schools.
In order to land a big fish you have to go after them, and Weté certainly qualifies as a big fish. Should Wake land Weté he would be one of the highest ranked players to ever step on campus in Winston-Salem. A long way to go on this one though.
