Edwards is an exceptional addition to the 2018 class. Edwards is a 6’6”, 325-pound offensive tackle, consensus 3-star prospect, and is rated as the 50th best offensive tackle in the class by 247 Sports. He had an impressive offer list that includes Louisville, Maryland, North Carolina State, North Carolina, Virginia, and Virginia Tech.
He clearly has a massive frame, and also has some surprising athleticism. He is able to get down the field and run block down field, though his strength appears to be in pass blocking. This is a very nice job by Dave Clawson and the staff of beating out other strong Power Five programs to secure Edwards’ commitment. That’s a credit to the job that Clawson has done building the program and beating a top 25 opponent in a bowl game this past season.
