Wake Forest vs. Georgia Tech: BSD Staff Predictions

Who does the staff like in today’s game?

NCAA Basketball: Wake Forest at Boston College Bob DeChiara-USA TODAY Sports

Adam: Wake Forest wins 76-69

Lammers against Collins is an intriguing matchup, and I think Collins will end up continuing his high level of play and win that matchup. Georgia Tech isn't great on the road and the Deacs typically play a lot better at home, so Wake will pull out a win in a close game.

Cam: Wake Forest wins 78-69

This matchup hurts me since I've been a fan of the Ramblin' Wreck since I was a tyke, putting that aside I think Collins has a quietly good game and the brunt falls onto Keyshawn Woods both offensively and defensively and he steps up big time.

Elijah: Wake Forest wins 81-75

Wake plays better at home and while Lammers will be a tough matchup for Collins, Collins will continue to show his growth by playing smart and not giving up cheap fouls. Wake feeds off the crowd's energy and wins a close one.

Ned: Wake Forest wins 81-76

Wake gets out to an early lead, but as expected let's a late run by the Jackets make it nerve racking for the closing minutes. Collins continues his hot streak and the crowd stays loud in game #2 of a must-win week.

Riley: Wake Forest wins 78-73

Not as confident about this one as perhaps the numbers indicate. Ben Lammers will be a tough matchup for John Collins from a defensive standpoint, and hopefully Collins has gotten a little smarter about picking up dumb fouls. How Wake defends Josh Okogie will also go a long way in determining the outcome of the game. I expect Keyshawn Woods to draw that assignment. I think Wake will still win this one, but it will be closer than expected.

Rob: Wake Forest wins 78-70

While Georgia Tech has a strong defense, I do not believe that they will be able to keep up with the Deacons offensively. John Collins will be tested on the interior, but Keyshawn Woods, Austin Arians, and Mitchell Wilbekin will help spark Wake with outside shooting. Despite Georgia Tech's impressive victories over UNC, FSU, and Notre Dame, I'm still confident that the Deacs take this one and keep moving up the ACC standings.

No anchoring bias here! What do you all think will happen in today’s game?
