Wake Forest’s John Collins has been named the Atlantic Coast Conference Player of the Week for the second time this season. The sophomore from West Palm Beach, Florida put up absurd number for Demon Deacons this week, as he averaged 30 points, 12.5 rebounds, and 1 block, while shooting 78% from the field.
Though Wake Forest went 0-2 this week, they damn near beat Duke at Cameron Indoor Stadium, and John Collins’ numbers were too much to deny. Collins is averaging 19 points, 9.6 rebounds, and 1.7 blocks per game, while shooting 62% from the field. He is essentially a lock for 1st-team All-ACC at this point, and is currently 10th nationally in Ken Pomeroy’s Player of the Year race. JC absolutely deserves consideration for All-American teams and is such a key reason why the Deacons are in consideration for the NCAA Tournament and 30th in Ken Pom.
Please join me in congratulating John on this prestigious award.
