The Wake Forest Demon Deacons did not have much drama headed into National Signing Day, but the little there was revolved around Spencer Clapp. Clapp, an offensive lineman out of Gibsonville, North Carolina, officially signed with the Deacons on National Signing Day after taking an official visit to Wake this past weekend.

Clapp is a 6’6”, 250 pound offensive lineman who attended Eastern Guilford High School. He was previously committed to Appalachian State, but flipped following his official visit to Wake Forest. He was a consensus 2-star recruit on 247 Sports’ Composite Ratings. He played both offensive and defensive line in high school, and demonstrated good athletic ability. He will need to add weight, but that’s exactly what a college strength and conditioning program and a redshirt year is for. His athleticism should enable him to do a nice job of pulling and helping in the run game.
Please join me in welcoming Spencer to Wake Forest!
