Troy Simon, a defensive back out of Milton High School in Alpharetta, Georgia, has officially signed to play football at Wake Forest University. Simon has excellent size at 6'1", 180 pounds and looks to make an immediate impact when he lands on campus.

Wake did a fantastic job of beating out schools like Notre Dame, California, and Mississippi State for Simon. Simon is a very physical corner, who also has very good coverage skills and was named the defensive back MVP at The Opening regional in Atlanta. A huge predictor in college success is the caliber of offers that a prospect has, and Troy Simon has a host of excellent offers. Coach Clawson even called him a baller.
A consensus three star recruit, who is physical and has great length, will feel right at home here in Winston-Salem. 247 ranks him as a top 700 player in the 2017 class, including the 69th best cornerback. Given the loss of senior cornerback Brad Watson, it would not be surprising to see Simon have the opportunity to play as a true freshman this fall.
Welcome aboard, Troy!
