Wake Forest has announced the signing of 3* Huntland, TN Linebacker D.J. Taylor after his Letter of Intent arrived on campus moments ago. Taylor was one of the first commits of the 2017 class, choosing the Deacons over Navy, Vanderbilit, and Toledo after an unofficial visit back in June. Over the past couple of months he has been very active on social media recruiting other players to Wake Forest and being an important voice of this incoming class.

This past season Taylor was honored with a 1st team All-State 1A selection in Tennessee and was Lakeway All-Area Player of the Year. While he was recruited on the defensive side of the ball for Wake Forest, his offensive numbers were nothing short of spectacular for Huntland throughout their 5-5 campaign. He finished the season with 2162 yards on the ground and 30 touchdowns, with his best performance being a 396 yard, six TD performance in late October. He recorded 69 tackles on defense on the year as well and fielded 8 kickoffs for an average of 31.1 yards.
Honored to be named to the Tennessee All-State team https://t.co/36mOXqBPCb
