Coby Davis Signs with Wake Forest

Wake Forest signs 3 star DB out of Washington DC

NCAA Football: Wake Forest at Indiana Marc Lebryk-USA TODAY Sports

Coby Davis, a 6’1”, 180-pound cornerback out of Maret School in Washington, D.C., has signed with the Demon Deacons. 247 Sports ranks Davis as a 3 star recruit and the 90th best cornerback in the 2017 class. He chose Wake Forest over offers from Virginia, Navy, and Army. Along with his size, he has good ball skills and can also offer run support from the corner position.

Davis initially committed to Wake Forest in June of 2016 and never wavered on his commitment. Barton Simmons, an analyst at 247 Sports, was impressed with the commitment in June and cites his athleticism. Davis plays basketball in addition to football, and Clawson always loves recruits who play multiple sports in high school.

Wake Forest will likely have a true freshman play at corner this season, and Clawson indicates that Davis will compete for playing time this fall.
