2018 Football Season Opener Against Tulane Moved to Thursday, August 30th

Wake Forest will travel to New Orleans to open up the 2018 season on a Thursday night in Yulman Stadium

For those you planning to head down to New Orleans to watch the season opener between Wake Forest against Tulane in August, you either had your plans enhanced or ruined, as the game today was moved to Thursday, August 30th.

The game was originally to be played on September 1st, 2018, which would have been the Saturday of Labor Day Weekend, but in a move familiar to Wake fans, the season-opener will now be on a Thursday.

Tulane is coming off of a 5-7 season, including a gut-wrenching season finale loss to SMU that prevented the Green Wave from becoming bowl eligible for the first time since 2013, and just the fifth time in 30 years.

So now you can either go down Thursday and turn it into a 5 day blowout weekend in New Orleans on Labor Day, or stay home and presumably watch it on some form of ESPN television.

The Green Wave is headed in the right direction under Willie Fritz and this will not be an easy test to open the season. Tulane pulled in its best recruiting class this decade yesterday, ranking 65th nationally.
