Welcome to Wake Forest Mike Edwards! Dave Clawson and company locked down Mr. Edwards as a Demon Deacon when Mike officially signed with Wake today.
Edwards is an exceptional addition to the 2018 class. Edwards comes in as a 6’6”, 325-pound offensive tackle, consensus 3-star prospect, and is rated as the 50th best offensive tackle in the class by 247 Sports. He had an impressive offer list that includes Louisville, Maryland, North Carolina State, North Carolina, Virginia, and Virginia Tech.
Needless to say this is an excellent signing for the coaching staff and one that Demon Deacon fans should be very very excited about. Edwards brings in a massive frame, and also has some surprising athleticism.
He is able to get down the field and run block down field, though his strength appears to be in pass blocking. This is a very nice job by Dave Clawson and the staff of beating out some other strong Power Five programs to secure Edwards’ commitment. That’s a credit to the job that Clawson has done building the program and the Demon Deacon faithful have a lot of exciting things to look forward to.
Welcome to the old gold and black Mike!
