Kelijiha Brown Signs With Wake Forest

Yet another big signing has been made official, this time on the defensive line.

Kelijha Brown, a composite 3* Defensive Lineman on 247Sports out of Saluda, South Carolina, has sent in his official letter of intent. Brown is already a hulking 6”3’, 305 pounds, and received interest from Colorado State, East Carolina, Appalachian State South Carolina, UNC, and even Clemson. That offer list tells you the level of interest this young man had, and Wake picking him up is good stuff indeed. Linemen are vital to success at every level of football, and it seems that our coaching staff is well aware of this.

Watching some highlights of him (some embedded below), my amateur assessment is that he’s extremely explosive off the blocks, gets into the backfield with exciting frequency, and also seems to have a motor and focus necessary to never give up on plays. Even in highlights where he can’t totally disrupt the plays, he seems to have a good natural feel for his assignments and being able to adjust on the fly.

Brown is ranked the #53 DT in the class and an impressive #12 in the state of South Carolina. The fact that the Deacs beat out both Clemson and South Carolina for his commitment is pretty impressive. I don’t know what the redshirt situation is like for this year’s recruits, but the fact that an athlete this big and explosive will be shoring up the defensive line ranks is super exciting.

Welcome to the family, Kelijha. Go Deacs.
