The game time and the Vegas line has been set for Wake Forest’s trip to the Carrier Dome to take on Syracuse on Saturday.
Essentially the entire ACC received a six-day hold last weekend for kickoff times for the November 11th slate of games, but it was announced yesterday that Syracuse will host Wake Forest at 3 PM on Saturday on RSN.
The Orange and the Demon Deacons are both coming off of losses this past weekend, as Cuse fell to Florida State 27-24, while Wake lost to Notre Dame 48-37.
Syracuse enters the game at 4-4, while Wake Forest sits at 5-3. This is a huge game for both teams as far as bowl eligibility is concerned. After Wake, the Orange will play at Louisville before hosting Boston College. It needs two out of three to make a bowl game.
The Deacs meanwhile need to win just one of it’s final three games, traveling to Cuse this weekend before hosting N.C. State and Duke to wrap up the regular season.
Vegas had Syracuse as a 3-3.5 point favorite to open up depending on what site you looked at, but it has since come down to a 1-1.5 point spread, with the early money on the Deacs.
My guess would be that this goes to a pick’em before kickoff on Saturday.
According to Football Study Hall, Wake Forest is a 2.5 point favorite, but that does not take into account any injuries, which have plagued the Deacs the past couple off weeks. Syracuse star QB Eric Dungey got pretty banged up in the loss to Florida State, so that is a situation worth monitoring as well.
