The votes are in, and this week’s Deac of the Week is senior quarterback John Wolford. Congratulations to John!
Wolford ran away with this one, earning over 80% of the votes in a four-way race for DOTW. That’s saying something, since he was up against several other guys who turned in top-10 performances in school history. But Wolford earned it - he completed 25 of 38 passes (66%) for 363 yards and 3 touchdowns, and rushed 19 times for 136 yards and another 3 scores. He did that all without turning the ball over, and his 499 total yards of offense was good for third-best in Wake Forest history.
Aside from the prestigious DOTW award, Wolford pulled in some other honors, being named the ACC’s offensive back of the week, PFF’s top ACC quarterback, and the CFPA national performer of the week:
