The Wake Forest Demon Deacons conclude the road portion of their schedule when they travel to New York to take on the Syracuse Orange. This is a pivotal game for both teams, as both the Deacs and Orange are still seeking bowl eligibility. Wake Forest will clinch bowl eligibility with a win, while Syracuse would still be a game shy of eligibility with a victory.
My biggest question today is the availability of safety Jessie Bates. Wake Forest really missed his presence in run support last week against Notre Dame, and his presence could be huge in stopping Syracuse’s Eric Dungey. Dungey is another question mark, as he has been hobbled in previous weeks, and tends to play with reckless abandon. In a game that’s essentially a toss up, the availability and effectiveness of those two players could very well play a huge role in determining the outcome.
