The Wake Forest Demon Deacons got off to a less than inspiring start against the Boston College Eagles, and found themselves trailing at halftime. However, Wake Forest utilized a 22-5 run that began 5 minutes into the second half to pull away for good. Hear what Danny Manning had to say following the win, and then check out the highlights.
Wake was led offensively by John Collins, who finished with 17 points. Headed into the game I thought that Dinos Mitoglou was key to the game, however, as he utilized his size advantage to make shots from the low post as well as the mid post. Often times his defender was several inches shorter than him, so he simply shot over top of him. He scored 15 points without attempting a 3. Overall Wake had 4 players scoring in double-figures, with another 2 scoring at least 7 points. Excellent balance from the Deacs.
Wake Forest will resume action on Sunday evening when they travel to Charlottesville to take on Virginia. The game tips at 8 p.m. and can be seen on ESPNU.
