Wake Forest vs. Syracuse: BSD Staff Predictions

Can the Deacs win their 2nd straight ACC road game for the first time since 2009?

Riley: Wake 82-70

I don't know if it's just the win against State, or looking over Syracuse's stats recently, but I like Wake a lot in this one. The Deacs protect the ball, move it around a lot, and can hit the threes to supplement the inside game of Collins. From an offensive standpoint I love this matchup against their active 2-3. If Collins can stay out of trouble and we can limit Tyler Lydon then I think Wake takes this one, and somewhat easily.

Ned: Wake 81-78

Deacs get back to .500 in the conference after recording their first W over Cuse since they joined the ACC. Wake is a top 50 3PT% team in the nation for a reason and has no problem picking apart Syracuse's zone Tuesday night. John Collins continues his domination inside and Wake rides a 3-game win streak into the Duke game.

Chris: Cuse 84-80

Winning one road game is great, but two in a row? I'm just not ready to get on board yet, even with Wake playing good basketball right now. The 2-3 zone has given us fits every year, and while Cuse is struggling a bit this season, they've got a Hall of Fame coach and a year removed from a Final Four, and we've got a long trip there. Hope I'm wrong, but I think the shooting goes cold, and we can't get it in to Collins against the zone.

Adam: Wake 78-71

The Deacs have some momentum having just won back-to-back ACC games, and will be extremely confident in this one. Wake has plenty of shooters that can consistently knock down 3’s against the Syracuse zone, and John Collins should be able to get the Deacs some extra possessions with offensive rebounds. Wake jumps out to a quick lead and holds on to win it late.

Elijah: Wake 87-81

As Wake Forest learns to close games under Manning, the Deacs will finally keep on feeding Collins, even in crunch time action. While overcoming a huge hurdle by winning an ACC game on the road after 25 unsuccessful tries, look for the Demon Deacons to continue a new streak on the road, a winning one.

Cam: Wake 85-79.

The Deacs ride the wave of finally cracking the ACC road algorithm and go into an arguably even more hostile environment that is the Carrier dome. #ZoneisForCowards and the Deacs use their 3PT prowess to go ahead and stay ahead.

What do you guys think? Do the Deacs stay hot in upstate NY and come back home with a W?
