Adam: NC State wins 79-66
Not only is the game on the road, but it's on the road in Raleigh, where the Deacs have been awful in the last decade. The Pack have one of the best guards in the country, which worries me since Wake has been playing pretty atrocious perimeter defense lately.
Cam: Wake Forest wins 88-80
Wake finally shook off the ghost of late game collapses last game and carries that momentum into this one. We get 15 productive minutes out of Moore while Wake finally remembers that JC is really really good at basketball. Crawford has a decent game as well but I'm looking at Childress to have a standout game and hold off the terror that is Dennis Smith Jr. #GoDeacs
Chris: NC State wins 80-70
Checks to see if it's a road game. Yep. State wins, 80-70. Deacs have been completely unable to stop dribble penetration this year, and Dennis Smith is gonna drop 40 on us. I think John Collins and Bryant Crawford will get theirs too, but this doesn't seem like a good matchup for us, even though I think Gott is a pretty bad coach if good recruiter.
Elijah: NC State wins 79-72
Wake has been terrible on the road in the ACC. While I believe Wake will have a lead at some point and seem on the verge to win, the Deacs will come up a bit short in the end. Again, Wake fails to get Collins involved late, especially in crunch time.
Grumpy: NC State wins 78-70
I don't have the cojones to call our first ACC road win in two years, but I'm sure someone else on here will and I will be ecstatic when they're right. I see this being close (or even a Wake lead) deep into the second half, but then unforced errors in the form of turnovers and poor shot selections piling up and ultimately putting the game out of reach. I'm also worried about NC State's guards lighting us up from three based on our lackluster perimeter defense. But hey, I'm a horrible pessimist. I also fully believe this is a game we can win, and it would mean a ton to the team and the fans to win it.
Riley: Wake Forest wins 92-87
I'm riding the positivity train. Hitting the game up tomorrow with Jake, and somehow Wake has won the last 3 road or neutral games that I have been to, after two decades of futility. I think Wake FINALLY gets an ACC road win under Danny Manning. This is a good matchup for the Deacs. Anya and Yurtseven are going to have a very difficult time with Collins and Moore. Crawford usually rises to the challenge against top tier point guard opponents, and he will have to do that against Dennis Smith, Jr tomorrow. This one should be fun to watch, and I'll take Wake 92-87 in a high-scoring affair.
Rob: Wake Forest wins 86-82
I can’t believe it, but I’m picking Wake Forest to win an ACC road game. I was extremely impressed by Wake’s offensive performance against Miami on Wednesday, and NC State is not exactly an elite defensive team. John Collins should have an excellent day on the interior, and I believe that Doral Moore’s presence will help deter Dennis Smith, Jr. from attacking. Here’s to hoping.
What do you all think is going to happen in Saturday afternoon’s tilt?
