The 2017 Wake Forest football recruiting class grew a bit larger on Thursday evening. Ja’Sir Taylor, an athlete out of New Jersey, committed to play football at Wake Forest University. He was previously committed to Temple, but decommitted from the Owls following his official visit to Wake Forest this past weekend. Learn more about Wake’s newest commit.
Extremely blessed to announce I am 110% committed to Wake Forest University #GoDeacs pic.twitter.com/QB5XTco2LR

Taylor is listed at 6’, 175-pounds and is rated as the 67th best athlete in the country by 247 Sports, but is the 144th best athlete in the country according to the 247 Sports Composite. He played a multitude of positions in high school, as he was a slot receiver and cornerback. In his role as a receiver he also carried the ball 40+ times. It’s not definitive what position he will play at Wake, but I mostly expect him to contribute as a corner and return man.
National Signing Day is less than two weeks away. The coaching staff has really been putting the finishing touches on the class over the past several days, and it has the opportunity to get even bigger after this weekend’s official visits.
