Friday is the first day of the recruiting period, and that means that basketball coaches can meet with recruits in person. Danny Manning wasted zero time, according to basketball recruiting analyst Corey Evans, as Manning has already watched and will later meet with arguably Wake’s top target in the 2017 class - Chaundee Brown.

Brown has been one of Wake Forest’s top targets since this past December, and he has risen in the recruiting rankings due to stellar play on the summer circuit. He is now a consensus top-35 player in the class, and has a legitimate chance to make the McDonald’s All-American game. He has a final four list of Kansas, Florida, Maryland, and Wake Forest. He took an official visit to Kansas this past weekend, and is set to take his official visit to Wake Forest on the weekend of October 14th. Wake Forest picked up another Crystal Ball prediction for Brown today, and that means that Wake Forest “owns” the last two Crystal Ball predictions for Brown.
Chaundee Brown is a “bucket getter” who will immediately make an offensive impact wherever he signs. He has a perimeter shot, and also has the strength to put the ball on the floor and attack the basket. He’s also willing to lock in on defense. If he commits to Wake, then he is a game changer of a recruit. Brown, combined with the older talent Wake would have on the roster, would elevate the Deacs back into the NCAA Tournament, and could create a very nice domino effect getting Wake back to where it belongs.
