The Wake Forest basketball program continues to receive fantastic news. On Monday evening, Evan Daniels of Scout.com reported that 4-star guard Brandon Randolph is down to just four schools, and Wake made the cut. Wake made Randolph’s initial Final 12 in July, but is now in the final four, along with Arizona, Oregon, and Syracuse.
Brandon Randolph has narrowed his list to Arizona, Oregon, Syracuse and Wake Forest. Top 50 prospect that can score it.— Evan Daniels (@EvanDaniels) September 13, 2016
Brandon Randolph is the 38th best player in the class, according to Scout.com. He’s 6’5”, 175-pounds, so while he needs to add some muscle to his frame, he can flat out score. He has a quick release, is bouncy, and can finish at the basket with authority.
The key information in Daniels’ tweet is that Louisville and North Carolina, who were thought to be the initial leaders for Randolph, are now out of the mix. More positive news for Wake Forest is that they received 4 Crystal Ball predictions for Randolph in the span of 10 minutes this evening. He took an official visit to Syracuse this past weekend, but to my knowledge he hasn’t set up a Wake Forest visit, or any other visits. Ideally, Danny Manning and Randolph Childress (the lead recruiter) can get him to visit campus on the weekend of October 1st, which is the same weekend as Chaundee Brown.
I won’t celebrate just yet, but the 2017 recruiting class could be downright fantastic if things go as they are trending. Please continue to follow Blogger So Dear for the latest Wake Forest basketball recruiting news. We will update as soon as we see anything about a potential visit.
