Game day is finally here. The Wake Forest football team has been through nine months of offseason conditioning drills and practices, and now it's time to see just how far they have come. The biggest tests for tonight are going to be Tulane's front seven and the unknown of Tulane's offense.

Tulane head coach Willie Fritz utilized a true option offense during his time at Georgia Southern, but that was mostly an adoption of his typical offense to match the personnel he inherited. In his ideal system he will adopt more of a spread system that lends itself to far more passing than a traditional option attack.

Dave Clawson is very meticulous (that's a good thing), and he's studied Georgia Southern's film for scheme as well as Tulane's film to understand the strengths and weaknesses of the personnel. I fully expect the staff to have a strong game plan and be prepared for what Tulane runs. Having a new offense works both ways though. Tulane doesn't have very much experience in this system, while Wake is in year year of Clawson's system.

I hope you all join us for the game. I know a number of you will probably be at the game, as will a majority of our staff. Me personally? I'll be at the Vandy vs. South Carolina game tonight, so I unfortunately won't be able to join in on the game thread. Hopefully we still have a great conversation and the Deacs take care of business tonight.
