Devon Dotson, one of Wake Forest’s top targets in the 2018 recruiting class, will be visiting Wake’s campus in August. Julius Kim of Phenom Hoops Report broke the news on Saturday afternoon. Rivals.com ranks Dotson as the 49th best player in the 2018 recruiting class, and classifies him as a 4-star prospect. He attends Providence Day in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Wake Forest initially offered the guard in December, and has watched him play on numerous occasions since. Dotson holds offers from Wake Forest, North Carolina, Kansas, North Carolina State, Clemson, Florida, and many others.
North Carolina could be very difficult to hold off, but they already have two guards (Rechon Black and Coby White) committed in the 2018 recruiting class. Will Roy Williams choose to take a third guard? He could, but hopefully those commitments can help Wake Forest.
At 6’2”, Dotson has excellent size for the point guard position. He is excellent at getting to the rim, and can finish around the basket with either hand. He also has a good mid-range jumper, and plays tough defense. He would be an outstanding addition to Wake Forest’s program, and I’m thrilled that he will be on campus within the next few weeks.
