Zach Anderson, a defensive end out of Forest City, North Carolina, has committed to play football at Wake Forest University. He announced his commitment today on Twitter, but Les Johns of Deacons Illustrated initially reported the commitment.

Anderson is listed as 6’3”, 282-pounds. He is a consensus 2-star prospect, who also holds offers from Florida Atlantic, Middle Tennessee, and Western Kentucky. He is the second defensive lineman in the 2017 recruiting class to commit to the Demon Deacons, with the other being Tyler Williams. He has decent athleticism, and has shown an ability to shed blocks and stop the rushing attack.
Wake Forest’s coaching staff has loaded up on defensive players in the 2017 recruiting class. 9 of the 14 commits are on the defensive side of the ball. I anticipate that the staff will look to redshirt Anderson in 2017, as Clawson’s goal is to redshirt nearly every player on both the offensive and defensive lines.
Please join me in welcoming Zach to Wake Forest!
