We continue our series breaking down each Wake Forest football player by taking a look at running back Cade Carney. Cade played his first three years of high school football at Davie County High School, before playing his final season at Davidson Day. He enrolled early at Wake Forest, and was able to participate in spring practice and the offseason conditioning program.
Prior to Cade’s play in spring practice, I wasn’t sure that Carney would play this season, but I now believe that he has a legitimate chance to start. He’s an excellent athlete, who has the chance to break out big runs. He also has the ability to catch the ball out of the backfield. If Carney can be a consistent pass catching threat, then that short passing attack should be able to generate a lot of first downs. Even if he doesn’t start, he will definitely receive significant playing time.
I’m very excited about Cade, and believe that he has all of the tools necessary to be an excellent back for the Demon Deacons.
What are you all expecting to see from Cade this season?
