ACC Football: Ranking the Top 5 Running Backs

Who are the best running backs in the ACC? That’s what I, along with Mark Rogers, and Mike McDaniel, discussed the other evening. The league didn’t lose many of its best backs, and that means there is a very talented crop entering the 2016 season.

Similar to our discussion on ACC quarterbacks, there was strong agreement that Dalvin Cook was the best running back in the ACC. He was a highly touted recruit, and has more than lived up to the hype. He finished the 2015 season with 1,691 yards on just 229 carries, which translates to a whopping average of 7.38 yards/carry. He also found his way to the end zone 19 times (on the ground), and these incredible stats are despite suffering from a hamstring injury for part of the season.

Who else rounded out the top 5? We had a good discussion about it and had some good differences of opinion. Do you all agree with our lists? Let us know in the comments section below. At the end of the video, I also discussed my expectations for the Wake Forest running game.

As always, many thanks to Mark for having me on to discuss ACC football. You can follow him on Twitter @MarkRogersTV, and also subscribe to his YouTube channel. He does an excellent job of covering all things college football.
