The Wake Forest football program is still in the mix for an elite recruit in the 2017 class. Mike Allen, a 4-star defensive end out of Georgia, recently tweeted out his top 8 college choices, and Wake Forest made the cut. Allen is 6'4", 240 pounds, and is a terror on the defensive line. Last season, he racked up 15 tackles for loss, including 8 sacks, and also returned an interception for a touchdown.

Mike Allen has scholarship offers from more than 20 other Power 5 programs, including some of the best programs in the country. Wake Forest offered him last summer, and have stayed in the recruiting race as a result of the relationship building that Dave Cohen has done. There's certainly still plenty of work to be done, but a commitment from Michael Allen would be a game changer on the defensive line.
