Madison Cone, one of Wake Forest's cornerback targets in the 2017 recruiting class, will announce his college decision this Friday. Wake is a finalist, along with Wisconsin, Virginia Tech, Duke, and Mississippi State. Cone attends East Forsyth High School in Kernersville, North Carolina, and is high school teammates with Christian Beal, who is a 2017 running back committed to Wake Forest.

Cone is a consensus 3-star prospect, and 247 Composite Rankings rate him as the 71st cornerback in the country, and the 723rd best player overall. It's no surprise to see him rated that high given his impressive offer sheet. While this would be a great haul for the Demon Deacons, it appears that Wisconsin is the favorite to land Cone. He recently had an excellent visit there, and all 4 Crystal Ball predictions have him going to the Badgers.
The 2017 recruiting cycle is just getting started, and we will continue to monitor and identify Wake Forest's top targets for the 2017 class.
