Wake Forest freshman point guard, Bryant Crawford, was named to the All-ACC Freshman Team on Sunday afternoon. Crawford joins Duke's Brandon Ingram, Florida State's duo of Dwayne Bacon and Malik Beasley, and Syracuse's Malachi Richardson.
Crawford, the 13th Demon Deacon to be named to this list, averaged 13.6 points, 3 rebounds, 4.4 assists, and 1.6 steals per game this season. He also knocked down 35% of his three-point attempts. He was named ACC Rookie of the Week in late February, and also led ACC freshmen in assists and steals.
This is a major honor for the former D.C. Gatorade Player of the Year, and is only a sign of things to come. There's no denying Crawford's talent or tenacity. He does not shy away from big moments, and is a fearless leader. He struggled with turnovers this year, but was also asked to do a tremendous amount. The turnovers are very correctable mistakes, but you just cannot teach his court vision and passing ability.
I'm very excited to see how Crawford's game progresses at Wake Forest, and look forward to watching him play against Cat Barber on Tuesday.
