Wake Forest Women's Basketball Team Crushes Clemson in ACC Tournament

Jeremy Brevard-USA TODAY Sports

There are not sure things in life other than death and taxes, but Wake Forest winning a game in the ACC Women's Basketball Tournament is getting pretty close. The Deacs dominated Clemson on Wednesday afternoon by a score of 73-58. Wake Forest has now won at least one game in eight-straight ACC Tournaments.

Wake Forest, who is now 16-14 on the season, was led by Milan Quinn. The junior out of Charlotte finished with 20 points and 15 rebounds. Freshman Ariel Stephenson scored a very efficient 19 points, as it took her just 10 field goal attempts. The Demon Deacons outrebounded Clemson by 24, but they also had 11 more turnovers.

The Deacs started off ACC play by losing five-straight, but head coach, Jen Hoover, did a very good job of improving the team as the season progressed. The Deacs followed that stretch up by winning six out of eight contests, including four-straight.

Wake Forest will play Georgia Tech on Thursday at 6 p.m. Wake Forest finished the ACC regular season with a 66-51 loss to Georgia Tech in Atlanta.
