National Signing Day 2016: Wake Forest Player Profile Jeremiah Brown

Learn more about the early enrollee.

Student Sports

Jeremiah Brown is a a 6'2", 175 pound wide receiver out of High Point, North Carolina, and is one of 6 members of the 2016 class already enrolled at Wake Forest University. Brown was a consensus 3-star prospect and chose Wake Forest over Virginia, Old Dominion, and Appalachian State.

Brown's biggest asset is his speed. In addition to playing football in high school, he was also a track star. He can run the 300 meter dash in 35.1 seconds and can run the 400 meter dash in 48.7 seconds. Both of those times are school records at Southwest Guilford. Clawson and his staff have been looking for players who can make players miss, and also players who have breakaway speed.

My best guess at this time is that Brown will be redshirted this year and develop his strength. Wake signed five wide receivers last year, and already has a fairly talented and young receiving corps. Clawson ideally wants to redshirt about 2/3's of a given freshman class, so Brown seems like a candidate for that. Still, it's always excellent to get players enrolled early. Brown has legitimate speed and will be a player to watch in the coming years.
