Lukas Masterson, safety from Naples, Florida, has signed with the Demon Deacons to play football. Masterson is listed at 6'2" 185 pounds and is rated as a 3-star by 247Sports and a 2-star by Rivals. He chose to sign with Wake Forest over offers from Appalachian State, Coastal Carolina, and Iowa State. His best trait appears to be that he is a ball-hawking safety, who has the ability to make big interceptions. His height is a big advantage when it comes to being able to defend and break up passes. Based on his film, he is also very capable at stepping into the box and providing additional run support. He attended Wake Forest's Friday Night Lights Camp, and must have impressed the coaching staff because he was extended a scholarship offer shortly thereafter. According to MaxPreps, Masterson finished his Senior season with 45 total tackles, 6 interceptions and 31 passes defended. You can check out his Senior year highlights below.
