Jamie Newman, a 6'4" 220 pound dual-threat quarterback, is already on campus after graduating early from Graham HS (Graham, NC) and enrolling at Wake in January. Newman originally committed to be a Deac on April 20, 2015.
Newman is a consensus three star player, ranked as the 16th best dual-threat quarterback in the country according to the 247 Composite Rating. His .8585 rating puts him at 645th nationally and third in Wake's planned 2016 class. He committed to Wake Forest over ACC offers from Boston College, Duke, NC State, and Syracuse, as well as offers from Vanderbilt and West Virginia.
I would like thank all the schools and coaches that have recruited me but I have officially committed to Wake Forest University ❗️

National analysts have raved about Newman's ability, particularly after he advanced to the semifinals of the Elite 11 quarterback competition. Wake Forest fans should be very excited about this addition. Coach Clawson and his staff continue to add depth and versatility (and now, height) to the quarterback position. Jamie, welcome to Wake and we look forward to seeing you take the field as a Demon Deacon!
