National Signing Day 2016: Sulaiman Kamara Signs With Wake Forest

Highly-touted defensive tackle Sulaiman Kamara signs with the Demon Deacons.

Danny Wild-USA TODAY Sports

The Wake Forest football program received a significant signing today for Dave Clawson and the rest of the football staff. Sulaiman Kamara, who is a 6'2", 287 pound defensive tackle out of Richmond, Virginia signed to play with the Deacs. Kamara is a 3-star recruit, who is the 40th best defensive tackle in the 2016 recruiting class, according to 247's Composite Ratings. According to that same metric, he will be the highest rated player in Wake's 2016 class. He is the highest rated player on 24/7 since 2000 to commit to the Demon Deacons

Kamara chose Wake Forest over offers from North Carolina and Virginia.

Kamra will add significant size to Wake Forest's defensive line. He should bolster Wake's rushing defense. Wake already had a number of defensive line commits in the 2016 class, including Emmanuel Walker, Zander Zimmer, and Carlos Basham. The Deacs also redshirted three defensive linemen from the 2015 class.

The defensive line has not been big or physical over the past several seasons, but that trend is beginning to change. This was an excellent addition for the Deacs and we welcome Sulaiman to the Wake Forest community.
