Brandon Chapman, a 6'5", 250 pound tight end is already enrolled at Wake Forest University, and will be a participant in spring practice. He is one of six members of Wake Forest's 2016 recruiting class to do so. Brandon originally committed to Wake Forest on May 21st, 2015, and stayed true to his commitment to the Demon Deacons.
He is rated as the 51st tight end in the class of 2016, and 997th overall by 247Sports. He is a composite 3 star recruit, and at .8432 one of the better ranked players to commit to Wake in the past 15 years. Nick Tabacca was the primary recruiter for Chapman.
The Deacs landed him over several schools, and withstood an unofficial visit that he took to Boston College in June, following his commitment to Wake Forest in May. Bowling Green, Cincinnati, Florida Atlantic, Kentucky, Toledo, and Western Michigan all offered him as well.
Hailing from Grove City, Ohio, it is clear right away from watching his highlight reel that he is a very good blocker at the tight end position. Since Tabacca recruited him it will be interesting to see if the staff has any plans to turn him into an offensive lineman or leave him at the tight end position. With his size it is not out of the question that he could do either.
Welcome to Wake Brandon. We are glad to have you and hope you enjoy the next four to five years of your life in Winston-Salem!
