When Wake Forest hosted North Carolina State over a month ago, it felt like an NCAA Tournament berth elimination game. Both teams were 0-2 and desperate to avoid an 0-3 start in conference play. Now, more than a month later, the teams are a combined 3-20 in conference play, and have no hopes of making the NCAA Tournament, barring a miracle run at the ACC Tournament.

Wake Forest routinely struggles to play well in Raleigh. It's difficult to have much confidence in this game given how the team has performed lately. The Deacs played well in Georgia Tech for most of the game, but then unraveled towards the end. Wake is going to have to commit to grabbing defensive rebounds, because State typically does an excellent job on the offensive glass. They can't shoot, but they make up for it by limiting turnovers and creating extra opportunities with offensive rebounds.
